Maxi Melt uses the right material combination which enables a long lifetime. The waer protection is focussed on the right components.
We are able to design the correct screw tip assembly set for the right polymer.
One of the main problems with plastification of sensitive polymers is the friction in the tip assembly, which can destroy and overheat the melt. In our philosophy, both the screw and tip assembly should work together and create an optimal melt condition.
Tip assemblies from a diameter of 30 mm up, the body is made from 34CrAlNi7 material (1,8550). The flights are Plasma-welded with eutalloy borotec 10009 to have a wear-resistant layer between the body and the check ring.
Tip assemblies smaller than 30 mm the body is made from through hardened material X155CrMoV12, (1,2379) The thread is tempered to avoid breaking.
For the checkring and seat, we recommend, based on our experience, the use of hardened material with a hardness of 58 to 62 HRC. We can offer standard materials like X155CrMoV12, (1,2379) but also special powder metallurgical (KPM1 or KPM2) for wear and or corrosion improvements with or without coatings.
