Materials

We can supply a complete range of parallel twin screws. Based on our extensive experience, we can recommend the appropriate steel grade and surface treatment to minimize wear. According to the customer’s needs, we can propose nitriding steel, eventually welded with tool steel or other materials.

Screws according to OEM’s specifications

We deliver screws according to OEM’s specification. The screws are the heart of the process and determines the productivity and the quality of the product.

Profiles

Maxi Melt can make screws with all kinds of profiles which are in use with the customer.

The advantage of our screws.

Up-to-date machinery and CAD/CAM facilities make it possible to manufacture high-quality, complex products with tight tolerances from a range of materials selected on a case-by-case basis, with a high surface finish suitable to withstand wear and/or corrosion conditions.

High-tensile strength material is used to withstand the process requirements.

Improved durability to weld the flight-tops with a high-abrasion-resistant material.

High surface finish to reduce friction.

Materials for plasticizing screws

Choosing the right screw material is important to have the right performance in order to reduce wear and corrosion problems

Welding materials for the screw flights

For larger screw sizes, we often use nitrided materials with the flight tips welded with different materials. This creates wear/corrosion protection or improves friction/lubrication.
